Moving On

My last day with my previous company has arrived and passed. When I walked in to office last Thursday, I felt a little bit melancholy but the thrill of change kept me smiling the whole day. This was another chapter of my life closing...like a sun setting on the horizon.
My colleagues gave me the coolest send off. A few days back, I was worried my stuff doesn't fit my new role in my new job. My bag looked like a high school girl's and I said to myself I had to have a new one before Saturday. So as a remembrance, my colleagues gave me a bag, not only one, but two!!! And I already bought a new one Wednesday evening. Isn't that just the craziest?

There are just so many things I will miss about working with KOJ peeps...I will miss the conversations, the lunch breaks, the jokes, the endless emails on a funny topic, the traditional "surprise" birthdays and the smiles through all the deadlines and projects. We were a big family!
I dedicate this photo blog to the friends I made and to the people who posed the challenges to help me grow.
These are just a few of the faces who made the 3 humdrum years of my 8 to 6 job noteworthy and exciting.   I want all of you to know that you made a difference in my life and I thank you for that. Hope our roads would cross again.

Leksy's Bridal Shower

"The sexiest woman for Daniel is....Leksy!"For a while I thought Leksy is some sport or sexy icon who I don't know about. But after Aleks blushed upon learning Daniel's answer to the question, we all understood that Leksy is Aleks! (isn't that sweeet). Aleks arrived in a stunning bright pink dress. The usual sporty girl from Church looked like a princess that night a mini tiara on her hair.We had tonnes of fun last week in the blue themed bridal shower coordinated by Coleen. There was great food and good friends. Coleen prepared exciting games which kept us all giggling like teenagers throughout the night. Here are some of the pictures from the party.Guess what is Aleks doing in this picture...It was a fun evening and I am tempted to share the details but there are some girls stuff which will never go beyond the confines of my mac. =D

My Week-Long Birthday Celebration

I celebrated my 30th birthday this year with so much joy...thanks to my dearest hubby and friends. I had a weeklong celebration and it was awesome!!!..it started last Sunday and ended last Thursday which is why I didn't have the time to post a blog. So this is was really transpired in this awesome Birthday Week
Sunday
- I blew my first birthday candle last Sunday in our Bible study group called College and Careers. There was pizza also because it was also Doctor's birthday last May 4th. Here was my cake c/o Kitty.

Monday - Surely, I was at home but still I wasn't able to blog because I had to download and edit Kasan's photos we took last Friday. We got good feedback. By the way guys, we welcome comments and ways how we can improve. :-)
Tuesday
- My hubby complained about a headache so we decided to go home directly from work. I was more than happy because I needed to edit Coleen's photos with her mum. It was my mother's day special photos. But I wasn't able to finish them that night.

Wednesday - Happy birthday to me! My colleagues surprised me with our traditional office birthday surprise which is not surprising anymore because we do it to all employees. I got my 2nd cake for the week. Yahahaha! I got flowers and a snow white teddy bear which made me gushed like a teenager.
I thought my day was made because I wasn't expecting for more. That was enough for me. I was just looking forward for a long night's sleep. However, my sneaky better half brewed a surprise for me. I was caught dumb-founded with all the preparation and effort my friends exerted. They successfully pulled off an awesome surprise for me. I blew my 3rd set of candles on a leche flan. Apparently, my friend forgot to bring the cake. Hehehe! Balloons, food and all night karaoke made my birthday!
Thursday - Oh but wait! It wasn't over. A bowling game was arranged by my closest friends. Kitty baked another cake for me. My fourth cake. My heart was brimming with joy. Felicity.
God is so gracious. Praise God for giving me another year to celebrate life and freedom in His love.

Birthdays, Farewell and Just For Fun

I have been very busy since the month of May started. It looks like it will be a busy month ahead.
1st May
- We had a farewell lunch gathering for Karen who left Dubai to stay in the Philippines. We'll miss her. Later that night we went to Sam's flat to have an authentic Ethiopian dinner. We all watched the movie Taken.
2nd May - We wanted to stay home all day but I forgot some tasks I needed for my work. So we went to DCC to mock-up and afterwards, we decided to watch X-men Origins. Great movie...9/10. Better than the previous X-Men movie.

3rd May
- A lot of people are celebrating their birthdays this month..smart and beautiful people! lol! So we prepared a surprise dinner for Leah, Monique and Judson (though he was travelling to India that time). Their official birthdate is 4th May, we wanted to share the celebration with our College and Career friends and EB.
4th May - Never-ending birthday celebration for Monique. Some of us went and surprised her with a dinner in Baker and Spice Restaurant in Souk Al Bahar. And I realized, in contrary to my last entry, the Dancing Fountain in Dubai Mall sways to different music from all over the globe. Interesting, huh?
5th May - Our last Perspectives meeting. Tuesdays will never be the same. Perspectives have changed the way I view my life and God has opened my eyes to His real purpose in my life, His purpose for the nations and His ultimate purpose for His kingdom.
6th May - Finally, got home early to re-upload songs in my iPod, cook and eat at home, download pictures from my camera and of course, write this blog. Whew...I need a break! But I don't think that's happening soon enough as my reading about Italy is up and over my head. Soooo excited for our trip!

So yeah, this doesn't look like a lazy month...but it will be a lot of fun. Lots of good photos too!
(more pictures in my facebook and multiply account and of course in our website)
